HOME INFUSION THERAPY

Gives patients the unique opportunity to receive intravenous medication or fluids at home.

The goals of Home Infusion Therapy are to give patients independence in their care and decrease the need for patients to stay in a hospital.

 

Home infusion is facilitated by highly skilled and experienced registered nurses. Members of the

 IV therapy team are trained in the insertion and management of IV lines. Nurses provide patients

 and their caregivers with:

SPECIALIZED NURSING SUPPORT
  • IV therapy teaching and support
  • IV line management and education
  • Ordering and delivering medication, supplies and equipment
  • Pharmacist and/or dietician consultation and management
  • Lab support services
  • Medication evaluation, reconciliation and counseling
  • Monitoring of treatment effectiveness
  • Therapy monitoring and management
 
IN-HOME IV THERAPY INCLUDES
  • Nutritional support services
  • Heart disease management: inotropic and anti-infective therapies
  • Pain management: Intravenous and subcutaneous
  • Antibiotics
  • Chemotherapy
